About the BBIF

The Black Business Investment Fund (BBIF) is a non-traditional lender that specializes in providing loans to minority and small businesses. It is a CDFI (Certified Development Financing Institution) and CDE (Certified Development Enterprise) as certified by the U. S. Department of Treasury. In addition, the BBIF assists businesses in building their management capacity through financial technical assistance services. The BBIF administers three loan programs, which are: (1) the Black Business Loan program (BBLP), (2) the Economic Gardening Loan program (EGLP), and (3) the Micro-Loan program (MLP). The BBIF’s service area is the state of Florida for its EGLP loan program and the five county areas of Orange, Seminole, Lake, Osceola and Sumter counties for its BBLP and MLP loan programs.
