Networking and Access
BBIF Monthly Business Opportunity Luncheons
The BBIF Monthly Business Opportunity Luncheons provide a forum for business
owners and professionals to meet with business and community executives,
public and private, in a roundtable forum to discuss contracting
opportunities. This luncheon introduces business owners directly to top
level executives and key decision makers in the Central Florida community.
In addition, the luncheons are designed to give business owners an
opportunity to network with other business owners and develop relationships
to assist in the growth of their businesses.
BBIF Annual Business Networking Event
The BBIF hosts annually a business networking event for Central Florida’s
business community. This event provides a casual and relaxed environment for
developing relationships and securing business contracts. In attendance are
minority and majority business owners and contracting companies that are
looking to meet with minority businesses to partner and subcontract with for
opportunities. Approximately 400 people attend this event annually and
millions of dollars in contracting opportunities are obtained each year by
minority owned businesses. Many major BBIF corporate partners and
governmental entities sponsor this event.
Special Community meetings
BBIF members receive invitations to all important business community
meetings. BBIF’s leadership works closely with local political leaders to
help to distribute information throughout the minority business community.
Such information may assist minority owned businesses with important
information regarding additional business opportunities.
BBIF Business Owners Roundtable
The BBIF monthly roundtables allow for business owners to meet monthly in a
group setting with other business presidents and consultants. In these
monthly roundtable meetings business owners receive focused financial
technical assistance from a team of consultants specializing in finance,
strategic planning, bond assistance, cost analysis, budgeting, bookkeeping,
HR and law. Business owners’ management skills and financial conditions are
enhanced, strengthened, and improved. Business owners are also supported in
this training by mentors, which are the larger and successful minority
business owners.
BBIF Business Owners One-on-One
The BBIF business owners one-on-one monthly meeting allow for a business
owner to meet with a team of consultants to provide focused training and
advice and to address immediate issues.
BBIF Business Assessment
The BBIF provides an annual “Business Assessment” of their member
businesses, upon request. This assessment consists of an evaluation of
financial, accounting and operational systems and provides the business
owner feedback with written recommendations for overall business
improvement.
BBIF 24 hours of assistance

additional business resources that are designed to provide 24 hours of
assistance to BBIF business members.

As a Mentor business member, such business owners are recognized as larger,
established and successful business owners. These business owners have a
more in-depth and established network of relationships. The Mentor
membership level allows for an opportunity for these more successful
businesses to “give back” to the smaller and less experienced business
owners. This “give back” to the community is accomplished by the Mentor
business’ participation as a mentor in BBIF’s Business Owners Roundtable
sessions, assistance in the selection and recruitment of Business
Opportunity Luncheon speakers and guests, and the supporting of BBIF
programming for business development activities.
